Music #1

My first real post.

Everyone has their own taste in music. Everyone is unique. Have you ever wondered if the music you listen to has an impact on anothers life? Could a simple song make an impact? A memory? Do the artists think "this will change someone's life someday?" I am going to show you a little of my tastes, and what certain songs remind me of. Enjoy.

Barlow Girl - Never Alone
This song has two memories with it. One when I first heard it and one when it played one summer night. The first time I heard the song it was because of my exgirlfriend. She was dating my best friend and all three of us went to the same church. She proposed the church do a skit with this song for a youth event. It would be the first non-traditional song ever used. Everything fell on her shoulders. My friend was to play the character opposite her. I was to be his replacement in the event he can't make it. No, I didn't go on stage. I never even had a real part. The reason I remember the song however, was because it was the first time I talked to my ex since we broke up. She was nervous and upset with over a hundred guests coming to see it, including many pastors. This could change the way we do skits. But it was all on her to succeed or fail. I walked up to her and simply said everything was going to be all right, and sat next to her. That small memory still stays with me and comes up with the song. A memory bubble to chase the notes.
The second memory wasn't nearly as deep. It involves a girl and a boy walking to her home. We were discussing our Christian backrounds and I brought up the song and story. Even though I am no longer a Christian, this song has remained with me since the first day. I still listen to it from time to time. We listened to it on the way to her home. A promise, Never Alone.

Another song, another day. Good night.

I am a unique individual.
Is it possible to be an individual and not be unique?
More about me?
I'm too tall.
Too stubborn.
Sarcastic. (Oops. I already said that.)
Cold.
Calculating.
Heartless.
Misanthropic.
Pessimistic.
Realistic.

Curious.
I will be using this blog as a way to post book reviews and life updates.
