Book Review #1 - Mermaid's Madness

Mermaid's Madness
Jim C. Hines

I thought it was a good follow up to Stepsister's Scheme, although this book could also be read as a stand alone novel. Characters were well written. I was disappointed that Danielle's sword  from the first bookwas barely mentioned and the girls seemed to complicate matters in several areas. Good fantasy read that reminds me of Weis/Hickman Dragonlance work.

4/5

Music #2

Now for something more uplifting and upbeat.

Bounce, Have A Nice Day, Its My Life - Bon Jovi
These three songs keep me going when I'm down. Keep on being stubborn. You can't let the world win. One more day. You can do this. Live by your rules.

  • Bounce - Don't give up, bounce back. I will win, no matter what.

  • Have a Nice Day - I think of it as a sarcastic remark. No matter what life throws at you, tell it to "Have a Nice Day."

  • Its My Life - Its MY life. Let me live it. I follow my own moral compass and set of rules. If you don't like it, well, "Have a nice day."

Advice #1

Advice blogs are going to be simple hints and tips I've learned in my life that I feel some may benefit from.

Advice #1: Don't hang up on debt collectors if its a wrong number.

I know that sounds stupid. Let me explain. If you hang up on them they'll call back another day. If you wait on the line and tell them to remove your number, by law they have to. Anything you say is being recorded. Tell them to remove your number, and even verify they are removing the right number. Or you can tell them to Cease and Desist. That forces them to never call your number again, period. Now it may take up to 48 hours for the number to be completely removed from the system, so you may get another call. If calls continue after that 48 period, ask to speak with a supervisor. Have them listen to the recording with you on the phone if possible. Then they don't have a choice in the matter if you are correct. I should know, I work for a collection agency. Don't kill me.
