Book Review #7 - Magician: Apprentice

Magician: Apprentice
Raymond E. Feist

When I first started reading this book I was reminded of The Giver.  I encountered multiple parallels between them.  Both books start off with a boy looking for answers.  Both have the boy be trained by a wizened old sage.  As I progressed deeper into the book I thought about Tolkien and Jordan and the similarities.  This book kept me riveted and reading at every opportunity.  You will find more then just magic and adventure in this book.  There is politics and military, humor and hardship.  I do want to see more of the story from the Tsurani point of view and their world, but I have a feeling Feist left that for books to come.  This book it seems is more a way to introduce the main characters and how they start to change due to the circumstances they have to face.
